Destination Wedding

This stunning, destination wedding took place on the Big Island of Hawaii. Charla and Peter shared their intimate wedding photo shoot with us, which was shot by the talented Karen Loudon Photography. We love the photos of the bride and groom riding side by side on bikes.

The scenery in these photos are out of this world. The wedding was held on Kohala Coast, also known as “South Kohala”. This area is not just known for having the finest resorts, but it is also home to jet black sand and rust-red lava rock fields. The bride’s white dress is the perfect contrast to the deep blue sky, and blue ocean water background.

We want to hear from you. What is your favorite part of this destination wedding photo shoot? Is it the happy couple riding bikes? Is it the stunning scenery the Big Island offers its visitors? Or is it the brides yellow shoes? Let us know in the comment section below.

Madisyn & Stanley: Kailua-Kona, Hawaii {Real Wedding}

We are head over heels in love with this statement wedding (photographed by Karen Loudon Photography)- nearly as much as our lovely bride and groom Madisyn and Stanley! Married on the 7th of December at the Ohana Retreat on the Kona Plantation, bride Madisyn revealed that she wanted a graphic and modern theme for her big day. A fun, chic and colorful design that would be intimate and romantic enough for the two to enjoy with their closest friends and family. And maybe even unexpected guests? Our bride shared her funniest story from the event:

“At the very end of the night our wedding party decided to all jump into the pool. We had a “wedding crasher” show up all the way from Alaska who decided he wanted to join in the fun. As all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were lining up, getting ready to jump, our wedding crasher stripped naked, in front of all our guest *including the grandmas* and jumped in!”

We also love the secret behind her big day- most elements of her wedding were DIY! Madisyn shared that save for an amazing lighting system, nearly every other factor was sourced, selected or made by her and her girls! Though it was a long and overwhelming process, the bride is happy to say that everything turned out amazing.

Congratulations, Madisyn and Stanley!

Flora & Derrick :: Big Island, Hawaii {Real Wedding}

Flora and Derrick’s Big Island wedding is adorable! From their lego theme to the bridesmaids dresses everything is too cute for words! This couple wanted something different, and a destination wedding fit the bill perfectly.

We wanted to have our wedding in Hawaii because planning a group adventure with our friends and family sounded a lot more fun than planning a traditional wedding. We ended up throwing a lovely bash with tones of drinks and great music for our favorite people, and still got to spend lots of quality time with everyone before and after the wedding. It was the best party of our lives and as much as we dreaded planning it, we loved every minute of our wedding day!

Congratulations to Flora and Derrick on a beautiful destination wedding!
