Couple, Barb and Cub decided to have a trash the dress photo shoot the day after their lovely ceremony in Maui. Their wedding was an intimate setting, with only close family and friends in attendance. It was held on the lovely Makena Cove, a famous Maui destination that is also sometimes known as, “secret beach” .

These unbelievable photos were taken by photographer Kimberly Kay. She was really able to capture the newly married couple in such a beautiful setting. We love the underwater shots of the bride. The bride’s inspiration for an ocean trash the dress came from her love for jellyfish. She even specifically chose her dress because she thought it would look like a jellyfish in the water.

Thank you Bard and Cub for sharing your trash the dress photo’s with us!

Let Them {not} Eat Cake: { Wedding Dessert Inspiration }

The wedding cake is a key part of any brides wedding day.  But as a bride, what should you serve the non-cake eaters? To keep your guest happy you should always offer at least one alternative to cake. Keep in mind, just because you favorite cake is chocolate, it does not mean everyone will like it.  We have put together a list of different types of desserts you could share at your reception.  A tip for any bride is when in doubt, serve something that will complement you wedding theme.

Wedding Dessert Inspiration

 cotton candy

The first unique dessert we picked out is cotton candy. Although this treat might not be the perfect fit for every wedding, it can be a fun alternative. It is perfect if you plan on have children at your reception. Cotton candy can even be a nostalgic treat for your older guest. Its also great because its easy to serve to large groups of people and your guest will not have to sit down to enjoy.

mini doughnuts

We saw this cute idea and had to share it. These mini doughnuts are great for a wedding that you expect your guest to be moving around during. You can also have multiple flavors to make every guest happy because lets face it, who doesn’t like doughnuts?

salted carmel ice cream cake shots

Salted Caramel Ice Cream Cake Shots! Do we even have to say more on why this dessert is a great idea? This blended ice cream treat would be the rave of any wedding. The top of the glass is dipped in caramel, with sprinkles around the top. This way you could change the sprinkle color to match your color theme.

personalized wedding cookies

These personalized cookies are perfect for any wedding day. They also bring up a good point. Every bride should keep in mind that their wedding is a time celebrate their relationship with the groom. Personal touches are a great way to separate your wedding from any other wedding. For your big day to be special, it all comes down to the details. When deciding on what dessert to serve, consider which dessert would fit with your wedding. If you plan on having guest dancing the night away, then cotton candy or the salted caramel ice cream cake shots might be the best choice. In the end choose something that you know your guest will enjoy!

Best Wedding Round Up { Aloha Friday }

Wedding

Lets start this weeks round up with a look at this gorgeous Maui destination wedding. Couple Krista and Rob held their ceremony in the town Kapalua. Check out photos of this lovely couple tying the knot here via Style me Pretty.

This boho inspired wedding is unlike any other we have seen. For starters, the bride decided to forgo the traditional wedding dress. Instead, she opted to wear a multicolored chevron dress. Part of their inspiration for their big day was to keep the ceremony causal and comfortable for everyone. Definitely worth looking at if you are considering a non-traditional wedding via Green Wedding Shoes.

Did to miss any of our real weddings this week? We have two ceremonies that took place at the breathtaking Kualoa Ranch, on the Island of Oahu. Click on the links below to see two interpretations of rustic themed weddings. Both parties had stunning results.

A great accessory for any Hawaiian or summer time wedding is a parasol! Parasols are practical for protecting your guests from the sun, and they can act as great decorative elements. Check out Grey Likes Weddings for more great ways to incorporate parasols on your big day.

Here is a great wedding that any bride could use for inspiration. This outdoor ceremony was completely unique.  The bride was able  to incorporate sets of vintage sofas and chairs to give the day an intimate feel.  It also helps that the bride had her sister, a professional event planner, organize her wedding. Look at photos from this event here via Style Me Pretty.

Hawaiian Wedding

Roger was born and raised on the island of Oahu, and could not have picked a better location to get married to Katherine. The ceremony and reception were held on the east side of the island, on Kualoa Ranch. Kualoa Ranch is famous for its unbelievable ocean and mountain views.

Not only did this couple get married on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu, but it is also where Roger proposed to Katharine. They were hiking the local mountain trail Koko head. They hiked through rain and 40 mile pre hour winds. Katherine described the first part of their hike as, “basically miserable”. However, by the time they reached the top the sun came out. Roger proposed to Katharine on top of the mountain, which overlooks the ocean.

As you can tell from the photo’s above, this wedding was a Hawaiian dream. Photographer, Rachel Robertson did a great job capturing this wedding. This wedding had a rustic theme, which was perfect for the venue. Are you wondering where the bride got her lovely gown? Not only did she design the dress, she even hand beaded it. Congratulations Katherine and Roger on your stunning Hawaiian wedding!

The lovely couple, Igor and Olesa decided to stage their trash the dress photo shoot on Eternity Beach, located on the island of Oahu. Photographer, Eugene Pavlov, found Hawaii to be a inspiring location to shoot. As you can tell he did a great job shooting the ocean. That action shot of the wave hitting the couple is unbelievable.

This couple pulled out all of the stops for this photo shoot. Olesa makes standing on rocks in high heels look like a piece of cake. They didn’t even mind getting covered in sand.  The best part of this photo shoot is that you can see the love this couple shares for each other. Congratulations Igor and Olesa!
