Guest Blogger: Florist Tamara Rigney on Tulips

We have a fabulous guest post for you today from Hawaii florist Tamara Rigney!

“Tulips are the quintissential flower of spring and they are a surprisingly wonderful addition to a Hawaiian wedding. These delicate beauties are very versitile – coming in every color of the rainbow and in various shapes and sizes. Spring is the best time for tulips as they are naturally blooming on the US mainland but they can be flown in to Hawaii year round for a premium price.

Tulips are great for adding splashes of color to a mixed arrangement but also work well in a monofloral theme. Their stems have an amazing sculptural quality so try using a single flower or two in bottles or bud vases. In bouquets tulips are just as versatile – pairing well with delicate flowers such a peonies and ranunculus or in a modern monofloral style with Hawaiian ferns.”
