The Land Before Modern Time..
What an adventure can be had in Northern Molokai! Our main destination was Kaluapapa National Historical Park, and I can say now, the destination is absolutely worth the journey as you become immersed in a land filled with eucalyptus and ironwood trees, sheer cliffs, and breathtaking ocean views! We found it to be one of the most unique locations on the island of Molokai because you cannot reach the 34-acre recreation area by car… our only options were mule, hike, or commuter plane! How wild is that?! The trip is just as exquisite as the park itself, rich in scenery, history, and enchantment. It was hard not to get lost in it all…

Woke Up in a Dream:
I feel as if I just stepped out of a painting! My trip to East Molokai was mystical, adventure-filled, and almost…UNREAL! Visiting Halawa Valley was an adventure unto itself as we were instantly surrounded by towering waterfalls, breathtaking views, and a sky filled with rainbows. We also came across Hawaii’s first Christian church, built in 1835, which was especially beautiful and unique. This area was filled with so much love for nature and adventure, it was contagious! It is incomparable to any other location in the world.

Seashells and Coconuts:
Someone pinch me please!! Kaunakakai seemed like such an “other worldly” place, removed from all of the hustle and bustle of modern society and joyfully stuck in a time of simplicity. How wonderful!! The harbor town revolves around classic shops, bakeries, a historic coconut grove AND Hawaii’s longest pier…and I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing all of it! With missionary churches dating back to the 1800’s, the genuine old-world Hawaiian vibe here is alive and well and a pleasure to be exposed to!

Feel the Sand Between Your Toes:
I have come upon a small charming plantation village that has more history, passion, and culture than you could possibly imagine. Maunaloa is home to one of the largest white sand beaches I have seen and is also said to be the birthplace of… the hula!! To say that this is a part of the culture in this area would be an understatement. I feel SO honored to have visited this region and been able to discover the unique cultural and shopping attractions here. Our accommodations were the perfect match for us as well! The laid-back and family-oriented atmosphere on this side of the island made us feel right at home, away from home!
