Kristy & Sage :: Oahu, Hawaii {REEL Wedding Video}

Earlier this week we saw the photos from Kristy and Sage’s wedding (click here if you missed it!), and today we have their wedding video. We love this couple and their attention to detail! Incorporating their love for Disney throughout the wedding in subtle ways. In the video especially you can see the touches to the flowers, the brides bouquet has Disney ears through out and they also appear in the grooms boutonniere! The videography for their special day (a speedy and stunning same day edit) was done by MWH Vendor 10th Letter Media. Congratulations again to Kristy and Sage on a wonderful wedding and we wish you two the best!

What is your Bridal Style? :: Boho Bride {Wedding Inspiration}

When first starting the journey of planning your or any wedding there are many fundamental questions that you must ask yourself. One of these questions are, What is your Bridal Style? This can be a simple and complicated answer at the same time! Are you Boho? Vintage? Classic? Modern? or something completely different. This one question can help shape every part of your wedding from your dress to the center pieces.

In a new series we are calling What is your Bridal Style?, we will go through the main types of brides that we think most people can identify with.

Today we are kicking of this new series with the Boho Bride. The Boho Bride likes things that many others don’t, feathers, arrows,  long Grecian dresses and an array of eclectic ideas that many others might shy away from. But what we love about the Boho Bride is that most times she knows exactly what she wants! Feather chandeliers, arrow escort cards and antlers. . . well everywhere! Here you will find some of the most recognized Boho Bride trends and see if this style fits you.

The first, and most general trend we are seeing with Boho Brides are including everything. From the sequence table cloth to the vintage chairs nothing screams Boho like a well thought out (yet laid back looking) mix of everything that the Bride is in love with. This table scape for example has a mix of vintage, modern and southwestern/tribal; it may not look like it goes together but for a Boho Bride it can be the dream.

The dress.. from classic lace to soft organza, the Boho Bride will take it to another level! With twists like see-through lace, pops of feathers and fur instead of beading and ruching. If you’r a Boho Bride, most likely you will want to turn the ordinary into extraordinary.

Flowers can greatly vary from wedding to wedding, incorporating color, flower preference and personal touches that will make it all your own. The Boho Bride is no different! Yet instead of incorporating just the basics she will throw in things that not many others would, for example feathers are a common touch and fur or dried flowers are something new that we are seeing.

The final Boho Bride style that we have seen encompasses the core of what a Boho bride is. Bringing the unique, eclectic and unknown treasures to the surface. This can be anything from turning a casual and typical beach side reception into a fireside fur infused party, to escort cards that pack a punch or a bow. At the end of the day the Boho Brides know how to bring the unusual together and create a wedding to remember.

Did the Boho Bride strike a cord with you? Tell us about it in the comments below!

Don’t forget to come back next Friday to see if you’re a Vintage Bride!

Ask Morgan: Best Hawaii Venue? {Wedding Advice}

Aloha! By now I think you all know the whole reason behind this lovely little site and a bit about who I am, but if you want to know more of our story, you can always check it out in

 OUR STORY.

When I started this site I wanted to make sure that all of the brides out there had access to the very best of Hawaii’s wedding vendors from the perspective of a professional who works with them every day. I also wanted to make sure that all brides had a place they could go to for advice on planning a wedding in Hawaii and a community of other brides who have and will be getting married here. So, I am launching a whole new page “Ask Morgan“, where you can post questions for me on anything wedding or Hawaii related and I will answer them. Today, I wanted to answer for you a question that I get asked a lot…

“Where should I get married in Hawaii? What is the best venue?”

I love this question because this means I get to find out a bit more about the couple before I can really answer this.The first thing to do is realize that Hawaii is pretty darn diverse and there are so very many beautiful venues to choose from. But, even before we think about the type of venue you want to get married in, we need to know what island you want to get married on! There are six main islands in Hawaii : Big Island (Hawaii), Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Oahu, & Kauai. The main island is Oahu, where Honolulu & Waikiki are located. This island has the most options for venues, vendors, accommodations & activities – it has the largest population and it is the most well known. The other islands are equally picturesque (if not more so!) and are all referred to as “outer islands”. They each have a personality uniquely their own and you can learn more about each of the islands in our ISLAND GUIDE.

Once you have determined what island personality best fits what you are envisioning for your wedding, then you can begin to determine what your best venue might be. In Hawaii we have everything :: gorgeous beachfront locations, private estates, stunning resorts, rustic ranch settings, diverse botanical gardens , historic gems & even modern cityscapes. There is a perfect venue for you and the best way to decide on one of them is to first determine what you want the feel of your wedding to be. Do you want your wedding to be sophisticated or casual, elegant or comfortable? This really is the key to selecting the perfect venue for your wedding and once you determine how you want your wedding and your guests to feel – you will have a much better idea of the perfect venue.

I hope that helped! If you have more questions or any comments post them below or on the new Ask Morgan page – I can’t wait to hear from you!

Don’t Forget the Guys! {Wedding Inspiration}

Choosing gifts for you wedding party can be some of the most fun and one of the hardest parts in planning your wedding party. Because you know these people so well, and want to thank them for all they have done, you cant help but put a lot of thought into these gifts. Finding the right gifts for the grooms men can be especially hard! We have compiled a list of some of our favorite grooms men gifts that we know you will love. Your guy might even want to get one for himself!

Our first favorite is mixed drink boxed sets, both show how to make the perfect cocktail that can be customized to each guys personal taste!

Personalized gifts can make for just the right touch! For the grill master in your group, personalized branding irons will class up their next bbq. For a universally personal gift that you know your guys will use, a bottle opener with your date and their name stamped on.

We especially love these ideas! The vintage wax stamp on a cologne bottle will be sure to impress and the creative cuff casing for any bottle will be remembered.

Finally something for the wedding itself. Vintage ties for your guys to use on the wedding day and beyond, a box of special ties will stay with them forever. And these adorable custom cuff links can go with any theme you have, or can be a fun pop for your guys to remember the day by!

Any of these grooms men gift ideas will be sure to leave a lasting impression! Which on would you choose to give your guys?
