We absolutely love Hilary & Nate’s wedding, photographed by Stephen Ludwig. The location is so warm and intimate, and we like all the personal touches: the camera, the mad-libs – adorable! One unique touch we can’t get enough of is that the bride choose pies instead of a traditional wedding cake! Every detail in this colorful wedding is perfection.
We heard this from the bride: ”We really wanted to find a house where we could have our family and bridal party stay with us for a few days before the wedding. We knew the wedding would fly by so fast, and we wanted to make sure we spent as much time as we could with everyone. When we found Kaaawa Plantation Estate, we fell in love with its charm. Having the Ko’olau mountain range as our backdrop was an added perk!”
With regards to those priceless mad-libs:
“There were so many good mad-libs! Our favorite part about reading them all was being reminded of old jokes and laughing at how much each guest’s personality showed through.”
And the delicious pies: “We chose Ted’s Chocolate Haupia Pie instead of a traditional wedding cake because it is our favorite dessert! Everyone we’ve introduced it to always loves it, and it was something unique and new or our mainland guests.”
“At one point in the evening, our amazing wedding coordinator, Morgan Childs, suggested we walk down to the lawn just outside the lowing perimeter of the reception and take a look at everything. It was so nice to just slow down for a moment, just the two of us, and let it all sink it. It was also pretty fun to jump in the pool with our guests at the end of the night!”
Congrats again Hilary & Nate!
