Saundra & David’s day after shoot, photographed by Switzerfilm, is absolutely gorgeous and utterly unique. Day after shoots are all the rage right now and we love the effort this couple and their videographer went through to get these amazing pictures. We heard this from the videographer:
“After the wedding Saundra and Dave took the next day off. Late that night they decided to take the 11:30 P.M. flight to Maui with Switzerfilm. We arrived in Maui at the hotel room around 1:30 A.M. YIKES! It was time to sleep for 2 hours and then jump in the Suburban and head to the top of Mt. Haleakala for a sunrise shoot. Major risk was involved with this because you never know when the sun might be covered by clouds…if it will rain, snow, or no clouds at all. You only live once right? So we risked it and went for it. On the way up the mountain in the dark we stopped for a muffin and “Crater Coffee” we bought from someone out of a truck. It was FREEZING cold and raining on the way up. About two hours had passed and we were finally near the top. Saundra then put her dress back on. The weather changed 10 degrees in 10 minutes (thank goodness for the sunrise). We shot fast and covered the areas we wanted to cover at the top of the mountain in about 30 minutes. Then it was back in the Suburban and off to The Road to Hana. We stopped at 2 spots. One beach area that looked like a scene from Jurassic Park and the last place we went was the area with the blow hole. We had to head home around 12:30-1:00 so we could catch our flight. What a day! Thank goodness for the banana bread stand on the way home. Yummy! Can’t wait to make magic happen again. Hawaii is the biggest playground in the world for cinema/photo dorks like us.”
